After a great nights sleep and lie in, thanks to the blackout curtains, we woke up to what looked like it might be reasonable day weather wise. As we’d followed the instructions about the storage heaters the cottage was toasty warm and over breakfast we talked about plans for the day.
We headed for Crooklets beach (Jack’s request) and started exploring the lovely clean, sandy beach, rock pools and watched some rather brave souls surfing!
We’d booked a table at local pub, The Preston Gate Inn, (Roger’s request) and headed over for a roast dinner which everyone really enjoyed. I stopped after the main course whilst Roger had a brownie sundae and Jack the sticky toffee pudding with cream!
Then we headed into Bude to look around (my request) and spent some time on a bridge. We saw some ducks and a bemused heron watching as several large fish swam past them up the river!
Headed home for a family swim and had the pool all to ourselves. Excellent.
